In India the school system has public schools and private schools. The free public schools have sometimes unacceptable conditions such as overcrowded classes or insufficiently educated teachers. In most cases only children from families who can afford the school fees for private schools have the chance for higher education.
The MIGROS KIDS School wants to enable children from families with lower income a holistic school education as alternative.
Through continuous improvement of teaching concepts and set-up the school achieved high reputation.
The school celebrates its 20th anniversary. The school has now 1250 students and 63 teachers as well as 47 employees.
Official approval of the 11. and 12. level and renaming into MIGROS K.I.D.S. Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
The school celebrates its 10th anniversary. The eye camp opens with ophthalmologic checks. The first students graduate successfully.
Opening of day care center, introduction of teaching concepts for students with special needs, start of medical center for first aid and medical checks.
Aufgrund der stetig steigende Schülerzahl wird der Schulkomplex weiter ausgebaut und das Gebäude aufgestockt. Das Dental Camp zur zahnmedizinischen Kontrolle wird etabliert.
For every achieved milestone a tree is planted and the garden around the school building is growing. Opening of library. An expert from Switzerland is accompanying and reviewing the teaching concepts for the first time for 6 month.
The complete new school building with 14 class rooms is officially opened and starts 11th December.
Opening in June 1999 with provisional buildings and 43 students and 3 teachers.
